What “Qualified” Actually Looks Like

Every credential Dr. Matt holds has a direct clinical application to the patients he sees. These aren’t wall decorations — they’re the tools that make the difference between temporary relief and lasting resolution.

The patented movement-based soft tissue system with over 500 specific protocols. Full Body certification covers every region from head to ankle — neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, spine, hip, knee, ankle, and foot. Most ART® providers hold partial certification (upper or lower only).

Advanced clinical certification for diagnosing and treating physical limitations that cause golf injuries and swing faults. Connects tissue findings to swing mechanics — something a general sports medicine provider cannot do. Level 2 is the advanced clinical tier.

Advanced golf-specific fitness programming certification. Builds performance programs targeting the physical limitations identified in the TPI 16-point screen — power development, rotational mechanics, mobility, and stability periodized for golf. Most TPI-certified providers hold either Medical or Fitness, not both.

A comprehensive movement-based clinical assessment system that identifies the root cause of pain and dysfunction through a systematic top-down movement screen. Used at Kinetix as the diagnostic foundation for every new patient — before any treatment begins.

DC degree from Parker University in Dallas, TX. Clinical rotation included work with professional athletes from the Dallas Renegades (XFL) and Dallas Wings (WNBA). Recipient of the Clinical Excellence Award and Presidential Scholarship. Licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, State of Texas.

Four-year letterman at UIW under coach Danny Heep. Played six positions. This firsthand athletic experience shapes the way Dr. Matt approaches patient care — he understands what it demands on the body to train, compete, and perform at a high level because he’s lived it.

Built From Experience, Not Just Education

Most providers get into healthcare because they’re interested in science. Dr. Matt got into it because he’s lived both sides of the treatment table — as a multi-sport athlete, a competitive cyclist, and a patient who understands what it means to have an injury stand between you and the activity you love.

The Athletic Foundation

Born in Kingston, NY. Moved to Round Rock in 1996. Three-year letterman for the Round Rock Dragons, playing baseball at a competitive level that would eventually earn a collegiate playing opportunity.

Collegiate Baseball + Business Degree

Four-year letterman under coach Danny Heep. Played six of nine positions. Earned a Bachelor of Business Management with a minor in Information Systems — a combination that would later inform how he built and runs Kinetix.

Digital Marketing Career + Multi-Sport Competition

Professional career in digital marketing while continuing to compete — baseball leagues, running, duathlons, triathlons, and ultimately cycling at a USA Cycling Category 2 license level. This competitive multi-sport period gave Dr. Matt a direct understanding of overuse injury, recovery demands, and performance optimization that no classroom provides.

Doctor of Chiropractic — Clinical Excellence

Earned his DC degree while working clinically with professional athletes from the Dallas Renegades (XFL) and Dallas Wings (WNBA). Received the Clinical Excellence Award and Presidential Scholarship. The professional athlete exposure during clinical training shaped the precision, performance-forward approach that defines Kinetix today.

Kinetix Sport + Spine — Built for West Austin

Returned to Central Texas and founded Kinetix inside CrossFit Lake Travis in Spicewood. Now lives in Lakeway with his wife Laura, daughters Teagan and Sloane, and their dog Izzy. Competitive golfer. Youth soccer coach. Still very much an athlete — which is exactly the point.

Body First. Swing Second. Performance Always.

Every treatment decision at Kinetix starts with a simple question: what is the body actually doing, and what’s preventing it from doing its job? The answer to that question — not the diagnosis label — determines the treatment.

Root Cause, Not Pain Site

Your low back isn’t the problem — your thoracic rotation is. Your elbow isn’t the problem — your grip mechanics and tissue adhesions are. Treating the pain site without identifying the cause produces temporary relief at best.

Everyone Is an Athlete

You don’t need to compete to deserve precision care. Everyone uses their body to perform — whether that’s 18 holes, a CrossFit workout, a full day at a keyboard, or keeping up with your kids. The approach is the same: find what’s limiting you and fix it.

Performance Is the Standard

Pain-free isn’t the finish line — it’s the starting point. The goal is to restore full capacity and build the physical foundation that keeps you performing at the level your life demands, without the body becoming the obstacle.

What Patients Say About Dr. Matt

About Dr. Matt

Common questions from new patients before their first visit. Have something specific?
Call 512-730-0284.

Who is Dr. Matt Centofonti and what does he specialize in?

Dr. Matt Centofonti, DC is a sports based chiropractor and founder of Kinetix Sport + Spine in Spicewood, TX. He specializes in advanced soft tissue therapy using Active Release Techniques (ART®), sports injury treatment, and TPI-certified golf performance. He is the only Full Body ART® certified provider and the only dual TPI Medical Level 2 + Fitness Level 2 certified provider in the Lakeway, Bee Cave, and West Austin area.

What certifications does Dr. Matt hold?

Dr. Matt holds: Full Body Active Release Techniques (ART®) — the only such provider in West Austin; TPI Medical Level 2 and TPI Fitness Level 2 (Titleist Performance Institute) — the only dual-certified TPI provider in the Lake Travis area; SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment); and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker University, where he received the Clinical Excellence Award and a Presidential Scholarship.

What makes Dr. Centofonti different from other chiropractors in the area?

Three things set Dr. Matt apart from any other chiropractor in Lakeway, Bee Cave, and West Austin. First, Full Body ART® certification — the only provider in West Austin with this credential, giving access to over 500 specific soft tissue treatment protocols. Second, dual TPI Medical Level 2 + Fitness Level 2 — the only such provider in the area, meaning he can diagnose and treat golf injuries AND build golf fitness programs without any referral or handoff. Third, his background as a former collegiate baseball player and Category 2 competitive cyclist gives him firsthand athletic experience that is rare in clinical practice.

Does Dr. Matt only work with athletes?

Not at all — and this is one of the most common questions new patients ask. At Kinetix, we take an athletic approach to every patient because everyone uses their body to perform, whether that’s 18 holes at Spanish Oaks, a CrossFit workout, a full day at a desk, chasing kids around, or simply getting through the week without pain. You don’t need to be a competitive athlete to receive the same level of precision care. The techniques don’t change based on your sport or fitness level — they change based on what your body needs.

Where is Dr. Matt’s clinic located?

Kinetix Sport + Spine is located at 5324 Reimers-Peacock Rd, Spicewood, TX 78669 — inside CrossFit Lake Travis. The clinic serves Lakeway, Bee Cave, Spicewood, Briarcliff, West Austin, and the broader Lake Travis corridor. Call 512-730-0284 or book online at kinetixatx.janeapp.com.

What sports and patient populations does Dr. Matt treat?

Dr. Matt’s clinical portfolio spans golf, baseball, CrossFit, running, cycling, swimming, soccer, football, basketball, gymnastics, powerlifting, and triathlon. Beyond competitive athletes, he regularly treats desk workers with occupational injuries, youth athletes in development, parents and active adults, and post-rehab patients bridging the gap between physical therapy and full return to performance.
